Connecting Pittsburg
Everyone in Pittsburg should be able to get where they need to go safely, whether on foot, by bike, or by car. Too many sidewalks end abruptly, are crumbling, or don’t exist at all, forcing families, students, and seniors to walk in the streets. Too many of our roads are ill-maintained, putting additional wear and tear on working people’s vehicles.
Isaiah supports investing in safe, connected infrastructure by:
Completing Sidewalks in High-Traffic Areas: Focus on streets like 20th Street to Meadowlark School, South Rouse, South Broadway, and the North Broadway business corridor.
Fixing Broken Sidewalks: Repair cracked, blocked, or overgrown sidewalks so every resident, especially those with mobility challenges, can travel safely.
Safe and Maintained Roads: Repair potholes, improve road surfaces, and ensure streets are safe for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians alike
Building Better Connectivity: Eliminate sidewalk gaps and dead ends that make walking and biking impractical or dangerous
Isaiah will fight for a Pittsburg where no one has to choose between safety and mobility — a city with stronger neighborhoods, safer streets, and a healthier community.
